Dirt Riot Responds to Drivers Request for MidStates Dirt Riot Series
Racing Saturday May3rd Starting at 9am in Shamokin, PA at Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA)
BLACKFOOT, ID MAY 2, 2014: When drivers in a specific region reach out to the Dirt Riot team to hold races in a particular area, the team takes a lot of factors into consideration. It is with great anticipation that Dirt Riot will be launching its first MidStates Series race this weekend in Shamokin, Pennsylvania at Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA). “Reaching into a new area always has it’s challenges, but we are very excited to bring Dirt Riot into this region and respond to the racers that have been extremely supportive of our series,” said Rich Klein, President and founder of W.E. Rock Events.
The three race series consists of this weekends race followed by MidStates 2 at Baird Motorsports Park in Sturgis, Kentucky June 7th and will conclude at the “Big House” in Crandon, Wisconsin as part of their Super Challenge Off-Road Race Weekend August 8-10, 2014.
The AOAA course is 4.4 miles of long and fast sections with one fun technical section. There are a few water puddles, but all have solid bottoms leaving very little mud to be found. This particular course can be done in two wheel drive, but four wheel drive will be faster for cornering. Two of the sections, accounting for about a mile of course, are super fast haul roads that drivers should be able to hit their max speeds.
Everyone that has wanted to race a 4×4 endurance race is welcome to come and participate starting with Tech and Registration on Friday night, followed by Racing all day Saturday. For UTV’s and Stock Trail class the only requirements are Solid Roof, Doors or Door Bars, 4 Point Harness, Two Fire Extinguishers and a DOT approved Helmet.
Spectators are encouraged to come and enjoy the day of entertainment starting at 9am on Saturday May 3rd. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for ages 8-15, children 7 and under free and Military with ID get $5 off. There are three Professional 4×4 classes, a Trail/Sportsman 4×4 class and a UTV class. The classes are built to encourage local 4×4 or UTV participants to join us in a day of fun racing.
